| This is actor/retired Staff Sergeant R. Lee Ermey. Known for his many many roles in television and film. Mostly known for his role as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket, Mr. Ermey also received the folowing U.S. Marine Corps awards and decorations which include: Meritorious Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (w/bronze service star), Vietnam Campaign Medal (w/60 Device), Vietnam Gallentry Cross (w/Palm), Good Conduct Medal (w/2 bronze service stars), Marksman Badge (w/Rifle Bar) and Sharpshooter Badge (w/Pistol Bar). I met Mr. Ermey at the Dallas Autorama car show. It was an absolute pleasure to meet this awesome man. If you get a chance, I highly recommend it. |
